T. Lowndes Pope earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Clemson University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Mr. Pope began his law practice with the employment and labor firm of Haynsworth Baldwin Johnson and Greaves, PA. While with the firm, Mr. Pope represented both government and private employers in employment law litigation involving a variety of complex issues including Title VII, Section 1983, the ADA, perceived employment contracts and whistleblower claims. In addition, he advised private employers on issues relating to the National Labor Relations Act. Mr. Pope later joined the firm of McAngus Goudelock and Courie, PA where he practiced in the areas of workers' compensation defense and employment law. Prior to forming Riley Pope & Laney, LLC, Mr. Pope served as Vice President of a national insurer underwriter with legal and managerial responsibility over the South Carolina operations. Mr. Pope is a member of the South Carolina Bar having served as past Chairman of the Bar's Technology Law Committee and is also a member of the Richland County Bar. Mr. Pope is admitted to practice before all South Carolina state courts, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
