Jayme L. Shy

Jayme L. Shy represents clients in the areas of foreclosure litigation and general civil litigation.  Ms. Shy graduated magna cum laude from Marshall University with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science.  Upon graduation, she attended the University of South Carolina School of Law as a recipient of the Merit Scholarship.  During her third year of law school, Ms. Shy served as Associate Editor-in-Chief of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Journal. Ms. Shy earned her Juris Doctor cum laude in 2008. Ms. Shy began her legal career by serving as a law clerk to The Honorable Sanford L. Steelman, Jr. on the North Carolina Court of Appeals. She later practiced law in Raleigh, North Carolina before moving to Columbia, South Carolina to join Riley Pope & Laney, LLC. Ms. Shy is a member of the South Carolina Bar, North Carolina Bar, and Richland County Bar Associations and is admitted to practice before all South Carolina and North Carolina state courts, the United States District Courts for the District of South Carolina and the Eastern District of North Carolina, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.  Ms. Shy is a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia. She and her beloved dog, Odie, currently reside in Columbia, South Carolina.
